Anita Ozoliņa

Anita Ozoliņa's farm "Daugavieši" is located in Dunava, sitting right on the banks of the Daugava River. To live and farm here, you must be resilient and cooperate with the laws of nature. Anita says that in early spring, when the river overflows its banks, some farm buildings are almost completely underwater for several days. But when Daugava recedes and returns to its channel, it leaves behind floodplain meadows with an astounding diversity of plants. Meadowsweet (Filipendula sp.), yarrow (Achillea millefolium) and other meadow inhabitants grow here in abundance!

Anita is equally as knowledgeable as she is hardworking - she gathers medicinal plants from her meadows to craft into fragrant herbal teas and salt scrubs. Every packet contains the power of the river and the aromas of its meadows! 

Anita is a lifelong learner, constantly growing her meadow knowledge and sharing it with those around her. It's very possible that another new grassland product is on its way. Anita is never short on ideas, as they come from nature itself: the Daugavieši semi-natural grasslands she knows like the back of her hand.
