Laura Černauska - Krakta

Laura works in Rīga by day, but she and her family spend every free moment in their country home in Elkšņi, Jēkabpils among the beautiful meadows and bees they care for.

Meadows and their management are Laura and her husband Edvard's passion. They've observed many semi-natural grassland indicator species, as well as protected plants, in their meadows, and are always curious about what new blooms have sprouted each season. They love the challenge of increasing the species diversity of their meadow. And their bees equally love these meadows!

Laura grew up with bees - it was in her grandfather's apiaries she learned how to care for and manage them. While her main job is in another field, her interest in beekeeping has remained constant throughout her life. She studied at the Latvian Beekeeping Society for 2 years and has been independently keeping bees since 2014. 

Laura also enjoys growing flower gardens, photography and baking delicious cakes! Her signature treat is a special 10-layer honey cake. 

Laura's honey profile is diverse due to the blend of semi-natural grassland plants. You have to try it for yourself!
