ZS Drubazas

Tourism.

In the Abava valley just before Sabile, a picturesque terraced slope catches the eye of many passersby, while on the other side of the road, with a careful eye, you can spot vineyards. This is the "Drubazas" farm. Since the late 90s, this place has been developed and nurtured for tourism, nature exploration, as well as grape growing and wine production.

For many years, the Dzērve family has been running the "Drubazas" farm. Ģirts Dzērve knows the farm territory deeply both in space and time. He can show where the estate roads used to go through his lands and where an ancient burial was found, as he mentions – a witch's grave. "Drubazas" has a diverse range of habitats, including unique meadows that have remained untouched since the estate times – no wonder nature scientists are guided here on excursions.

A botanical nature trail has also been established here, allowing enthusiasts to explore the diversity of natural meadows and learn about indicator species growing in them. Visitors can see Galoway cattle, which are bred in Scotland, suitable for outdoor conditions and grazing in the farm to help maintain the meadow habitat. Drubazas farmers offer visitors tastings and purchase of their own-produced wine, relaxation, and accommodation near the natural meadows.
