Chef masterclass in Preiļi
05.04.2024On April 4, another masterclass for aspiring chefs took place - this time in Preiļi.
The Latvian Fund for Nature together with the association "Young Chefs Movement" introduced the catering students of the Riga Tourism and Creative Industries Technical School in Preili to the products of natural meadows and their diverse possibilities of use.
When talking about Latvia's natural meadows and their products, it was pleasing to see that some of the students were already aware of natural meadows because their family or relatives manage these valuable grasslands. This was also demonstrated by the large number of correct answers to the competition questions. In the practical part, young people had the opportunity to get to know the products of cattle reared in natural meadows and to prepare their own dishes.
The masterclass was led by experienced chefs - Edgars Ķiģelis from the Whitehouse restaurant in Riga and Sandis Frīdvalds, who works as a private chef on private yachts.
