Taste products from natural meadows at the “Riga Food 2025” food exhibition”

4 September 2025

From 4 to 6 September, the Latvian Nature Fund, under the brand name “Dabisko pļavu produkts”, took part in the international food exhibition “Riga Food 2025” alongside the “Novada Garša” project, implemented by the Latvian Rural Advisory and Training Centre (LLKC).

On 4 September, visitors had the chance to sample canapés made from natural meadow produce, prepared by head chef Rūdolfs Šteinbergs. Rūdolfs is truly passionate about meadow produce! He experiments with them in various dishes, constantly discovering new and surprising flavours, and is happy to share his impressions.

On 5 and 6 September, at the Pļavas cheese tasting room, visitors were able to sample sheep’s milk cheeses from “Piena aitas bio” (Iluta Straģe) and goat’s milk cheeses from “Dāru kazu siers” (Dainis Erbss). The products from both these producers are labelled with the “Natural Meadow Product” mark – which means that these farmers’ sheep and goats graze in natural meadows, thereby helping to maintain and restore them.

Throughout the day, visitors had the chance to find out more about the natural meadow and its products and services, as well as to experience the meadow virtually.
