
Anna and Arnis Ginteri, the owners of SIA “StarSpace”, a farm specialising in the Latvian Dark-headed (LT) breed of sheep, work full-time in the information technology sector. The Ginters moved to live permanently in the countryside on Arnis’s grandfather’s farm during the 2008 financial crisis, after selling their home in Riga. The owners emphasise that extensive sheep farming, which they are constantly refining, is a means for them to increase the proportion of biologically diverse meadows. Meanwhile, the observatory they built themselves (one of only two private observatories in Latvia) is described as a youthful whim or hobby, which, amongst other things, supplements the farm’s cash flow. In an interview with “Agro Tops”, Anna Gintere and Arnis Ginters talk about their business philosophy.

The owner of the "Natural Meadow Product" label is Latvian Nature Fund.
The brand was created as part of the LIFE19IPE/LV/000010 LIFE-IP LatViaNature project, with the aim of promoting business initiatives for the sustainable management of natural grasslands.
