Atis Stapkevičs is proud of where he lives – with its well-maintained surroundings and the Dviete floodplain. The Stapkevičs family has had recognised expertise in dairy farming since the 1990s, and Atis joined the farm in 2014.

When the floodwaters of the Daugava begin to fill the floodplain meadows of Dviete, the fifth season – the flood – begins here.The floods provide the grasslands with varying moisture conditions; thanks to them, the meadows are home to a great diversity of plants. Once the floodwaters have receded, Ata’s herd grazes here, doing an excellent job of maintaining the natural meadows. What’s more, it provides the farmer’s family with high-quality milk.

The dairy farm produces ice cream using 100% natural ingredients. Only milk produced on the farm itself and berries grown on the farm, as well as wild berries, are used. It really is genuine ice cream made from real country milk, which is why it has been given a precise, unambiguous name – «Dviete’s Genuine Country Ice Cream». It tastes simply brilliant!

An ice-cream parlour has been built in the courtyard, where you can enjoy ice cream with a cup of coffee in a homemade waffle cone. The hosts offer ice cream in a wide variety of flavours, which change depending on seasonal produce – berries. Do come and visit!

In 2019, «Dviete’s Authentic Country Ice Cream» was named the winner of the «People’s Choice» category in the dairy products category of the LLKC «Taste of the Region» competition in the Latgale region.
