Herbalist Sanita Matule, at the “Vidnieki” farm in Antiņciems, Ķemeri National Park, manages biologically rich grasslands together with her husband, describing them as meadows worth a million. Sanita was previously fascinated by aromatherapy, which is also linked to plants, but she has significantly expanded her knowledge through herbalism courses and can now fully call herself a herbalist.

Sanita uses wild plants to make teas, as well as herbs that have been ground and dried, syrups, powders and ointments for beauty and health. A whole range of culinary delights from wild plants! Weed pesto – doesn’t that sound intriguing?

Sanita also offers masterclasses involving and focusing on medicinal plants – weaving herbal decorations, and making ointments, scrubs, syrups and infusions. Masterclasses can be held either on location or at the family-run tourist farm “DARE atpūties pļavā” in Antiņciems. Sanita welcomes visitors on educational walks through the meadows and organises various events, offering the chance to enjoy the peace and quiet of the natural meadows.
