The Stašinsku family are staunch supporters of biodiversity and organic farming, and they demonstrate this through their work at their farmstead, “Ābelītes”. “Ābelītes” is like a green oasis amidst the vast arable fields of Zemgale, providing a home for a diverse herd of cattle, sheep and goats. Domestic fowl of various breeds are also an integral part of this farm.

Although the property was originally purchased for family leisure purposes, the conditions dictated by nature and the opportunity to expand the land area have inspired us to do more. Gradually, they began building up a herd of Galoveja cattle with the aim of managing the grasslands; over time, sheep and goats were also added to the flock. The owners refer to themselves as ‘Grass Farmers’, as their farming is based solely on the use of grassland, including biologically valuable or natural grassland.

The farm offers Galoveja beef, which is characterised by distinctive flavour nuances and a healthy fatty acid profile.
