ZS “Auļi” – products crafted in harmony with nature’s rhythms from the meadows of Pūre

Solvita Emsiņa, owner of the “Auļi” farm, and her family manage natural grasslands in Pūre Parish, Tukums Municipality – a place that has been in the family for several generations. After ceasing livestock farming, the family sought a new direction in which to continue managing the grasslands in a meaningful way and to preserve this natural treasure for future generations.

An excellent solution was found by establishing a partnership with a neighbouring livestock farm, which highly values the hay harvested from natural meadows. At the same time, Solvita came up with a new idea – to use the plants growing in the meadows to make tea and herbal powders. Thanks to her initiative and interest in the plant world, this idea gradually developed into the first products, which could be enjoyed not only by her family but also by others with an interest in them.

Solvita is a certified herbalist – she has acquired her knowledge of medicinal plants and their effects through specialised training. This enables her to use plants knowledgeably and responsibly when preparing teas, powders and other natural products, which are based not only on tradition but also on an understanding of the healing power of plants.

To share her experience and the potential of the site, Solvita has opened the “Auļi” farm and its meadows to herbalism groups and for practical training sessions – these have become a learning environment where participants can gain knowledge and understanding of the sustainable use of natural resources. Solvita is also happy to accept invitations to lead off-site masterclasses, sharing her knowledge on the use of medicinal plants in the preparation of various products.
