SIA StarSpace - Zvaigžņu aitas

Lamb, processed products.Tourism.

Anna and Arnis Ginters (SIA StarSpace) manage a farm in the Ogre district, in the Suntaži parish, where they breed Latvian dark-headed sheep. Among the most common imported meat sheep breeds, they stand out for their modesty and resilience. The family's goal is to cultivate and offer for sale high-quality breeding stock and lamb meat while simultaneously restoring and conserving natural resources and biological diversity. Sheep in their diet consume up to five hundred different plants, choosing the most suitable for their health at any given time, making natural pastures the best place for them to graze.

Latvian dark-headed sheep should be hornless, with a dark head and legs, and should not have black hair even in their wool. But what if a black sheep occurs? Theoretically, it's a defect, however, in the StarSpace observatory sheep farm, such interesting and rare specimens are kept both as exhibition animals and for wool production for artisans, as they don't need to be dyed – they are naturally black.

They also offer visitors the chance to explore natural meadows and their biological diversity. And believe it or not - here you can also find the StarSpace observatory for stargazing, where visitors can listen to lectures about stars, planets, and other topics in simple language during their visit.
